BBC News del 9 aprile,in un ampio servizio dall'Aquila, parla anche del contributo dato dagli scout. In particolare, hanno intervistato Angelo MARZELLA, che era all'Aquila assieme ai vastesi Giuseppe RITUCCI e Michele MILANI.

"Un gruppo di una dozzina di bambini al di sotto dei 10 anni fanno un cerchio.Due scout incoraggiano loro a cantare e passare la palla. In un inglese comprensibile, uno dei due scout, che viene dalla vicina citta di Vasto, ci dice: "possiamo giocare a palla, giocare con le parole. Cantiamo,corriamo. Così possiamo portare a loro un po' di sollievo". "Per i bambini il terremoto è stato un evento sconvolgente, un evento che ha portato via la semplicità e l'innocenza della loro vita".

A lot of effort on the camp is being devoted to the welfare of children. About 100m away there is a tent with a handwritten sign on it saying 'psicologo' - or psychologist.
Behind the tent, children are playing games, organised by a troop of 150 scouts.
A group of around half a dozen children, none more than 10 years old, stand around in a circle. Two scouts cheerfully encourage them to sing as they pass a basketball around.
In hesitant English, one of the scouts, Angelo Marzella, from the nearby town of Vasto, tells us: "We can play with a ball. We can play with words. We sing, we run - in this way we can bring them a small amount of pleasure.
"For the children the earthquake is a very strong event, which has taken away the simplicity of their life," says Angelo.
